Ready to explore this day here in Africa.Today I will see Elephants and Wildlife in Nairobi Kenya, first a visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Thurst where there is orphan Elephants living and after that I will take a drive trough the Nairobi National Park. Got here early as it is only possible to visit the Elephants between 11 am and noon. If you have adopted a elephant you can visit later on the day. White shoes is not the most smart thing to wear. First all the small orphan elephants comes for feeding. So cute wobbling around. Too cute. The blanket is for heat since they are not among lager elephants that they can take shelter among. Today I am visiting the Giraffe center located in Nairobi about 20 minutes drive from Westlands where I am staying, depending on traffic. Nairobi traffic can be really bad and this 20 minutes can easily be 3 hours if you do not go at the correct time to avoid rush hour. Now I will finally see and meet real animals her in Africa. After the visit to Giraffe Center I will go and see the Nairobi National Museum to learn more about the history of Kenya.   All over Nairobi there is small shops selling you a wide range of goods. This is a more high class shop with walls and a roof. Nairobi Kenya steet view. Local ad. The Norwegian foreign department ranks traffic as the number one safety issue in Nairobi Kenya and I can understand why. I always have a driver or drive with a local. Traffic rules are considered as guidelines and do not need to be followed. Traffic is bad and the condition of the roads not any better. Visiting Karen Blixen Giraffe Centre and feeding the giraffes. I have googled, taken vaccines and packed my bags. My next stop Nairobi Kenya. After reading about this place I have not been sure about going. The other places I have travelled to have been fairly easy, not much to worry about. The things I have done before leaving is taking the right kind of vaccines, eaven if I am not staying there for many days. Visa for Kenya I have bought online and I have the confirmation with me. I have read a lot of articles about safety in Nairobi so I should now be prepared and smart enough to have a good stay. Reports from the Norwegian,  U.S and british forgein department have given me a good idea of what is important to think about. This is from the U.S Kenya travel warning “Violent and sometimes fatal criminal attacks, including armed carjackings, grenade attacks, home invasions and burglaries, and kidnappings can occur at any time and in any location, particularly in Nairobi” After some searching I have booked a hotel with a okay location and good secutiry, in Nairobi it is important to stay in the right neighrborhood. My adress and lenght of stay is repported to the Norwegian forgein department if something happens during my stay.
